Some of our favourite Bedroom Design Trends from social this year

If you’re looking for a new bedroom makeover, but don’t know where to start, read on! You’re in luck - our design specialists have been surfing the socials for some bedroom design trends that might inspire you and give you some great ideas for your home.

Hopefully one of them takes your fancy!

Headboards are all the talk

Headboards are no stranger to trend lists like this, they really have stood the test of time and continue to be a popular posting point on social networks.

Framing any bed with a bold and striking headboard instantly makes it the main focus of the room! If you have a minimalistic layout or smaller bedroom, then they can really add luxury and a grandiose feel, from just one item of furniture.

Mixing up vintage with contemporary!

Upcycling was a hot topic last year and we expect more of the same this year as brands and consumers continue to look for eco-friendly approaches to enjoying their favourite products.

If you want to get on board, a good starting point is to speak with your relatives and close friends - they might have some old furniture that they’re looking to move. If it is in usable condition, see how you can put it to good use in your bedroom.

Upcycling centres are available around the United Kingdom, set up by local councils. They often stock old pieces of vintage furniture donated by locals, so it’s always worth a drop in to see what they’ve got in.

If you are on a bit of a budget then upcycling used items is ideal - a quick trip to a local charity shop can usually be fruitful to see if they have any old paintings or photographs that can really add a touch of traditional class to your bedroom.

Mother nature knows best

Our third trend making waves on social for 2023 is greenery. Get the metropolitan look with impressive indoor plants, another eco-friendly addition to brighten up any room.

You can bring the jungle indoors to add freshness, plants naturally photosynthesise and can purify the air whilst you are asleep. If you have breathing issues or just want a less stuffy environment then this is a great choice to consider.

One of our favourite indoor plants is the ‘Swiss Cheese Plant’. The reason it is called this is because of its distinct resemblance to Swiss cheese! The holes across the surface of the leaves are a great design feature and really make this plant a distinct yet stylish feature to your room.

Simple comfort

Depending on your personality and lifestyle, you may spend a lot of time in your bedroom. One of our more simple trend suggestions we’ve seen is simple comfort at home.

You can simply make your room more comfortable through purchasing pillows, blanket throws and buying a large lamp with a warm bulb for a cosy feel. Soft, warm light will bring a comfy mood when your main bedroom light is off.

Feature Walls

Our final bedroom design trend to jump on this year is to have a feature wall in your room. This is great for those on a budget with a natural creative flare. Any wall can be a great starting place, as you can have whatever design you please on your feature wall!

If you have some family pictures to hand you could hang them up in a nice pattern. Or changing a wall colour is another good option. If you opt for this, we recommend having a minimal wall colour for the majority of your room, then a really bold design on one of them.

Choosing the wall next to your bed to have the ‘louder’ design is a perfect way to makeover your bedroom! There are some amazing feature wallpapers available for really bold designs and striking patterns, and as you only need to paper one wall, it can be a relatively simple job.

There we have a few of our bedroom design trends for 2023. Hopefully you have found some value in it. If you have, be sure to check out our other blogs.

My experience with Sloomy has been extremely disappointing from start to finish. The bed ordered via Debenhams for my vulnerable mother-in-law, who suffers from COPD and has limited mobility following a stroke, failed to arrive on the scheduled delivery date with no communication, update, or explanation. We had spent the day preparing for the delivery, including removing her existing bed, only to be left without any bed at all when the delivery failed to turn up. As a result, she was forced to spend the night sleeping on a sofa, causing significant discomfort and distress given her medical conditions. Despite the seriousness of the situation, there was little acknowledgment of the impact this had. When the bed finally arrived the following day, we discovered that the headboard could not be assembled because the required fittings were either missing or defective. What should have been a straightforward resolution turned into a frustrating and prolonged process. Attempts to obtain support have been met with slow responses, with Debenhams and sloomy passignbuck between each other, repeated requests for the same information, and a complete lack of ownership of the issue. We have been repeatedly asked to wait for escalations that never seem to happen, provide photographs multiple times, and start the process over with different agents who appear unaware of previous correspondence. Most concerning has been the apparent lack of urgency despite it being made clear that the customer affected is vulnerable. The combination of a missed delivery, poor communication, an incomplete product, lengthy delays in customer service responses, and failure to resolve the problem promptly has left us with very little confidence in Sloomy's customer care. Overall, this experience has been stressful, frustrating, and wholly unacceptable. I would not expect a vulnerable customer to be treated in this manner, and I hope significant improvements are made to both delivery reliability and after-sales support.

I ordered my sons bed to arrive two days before his birthday, I was pleasantly surprised when I received a text message to say it would actually arrive 6 days before his birthday, delivery was scheduled between 6am and 11am. On the delivery day I was at work and by 2.30pm I received a message saying the delivery van had broken down and they would contact me with an alternative date. Now I can understand that these things happen, what I do not understand and was infuriating was that I must have rang the landline number 20 times and the mobile number used to text me the same amount of times and that no one pciked up or answered the phone. The landline number just rang 5 times and then went dead. The service was shocking and being in limbo worrying if my son would get his bed before his birthday was frustrating. I did eventually get my bed at 6.35am on a bank holiday Monday morning!! I will admit the actual bed is very good quality and I cannot understimate this My advice for this company is that be aware if something goes wrong then you will be annoyed an frustrated

Great divan beds at amazing prices. By far the cheapest around but the beds are so luxurious. Customer service was excellent and responded quickly to my queries, would recommend.

I would strongly advise others to think carefully before ordering from Sloomy. The bed I received was faulty and not fit for use. From the outset, resolving the issue was made unnecessarily difficult. Despite explaining that I am disabled, I was repeatedly asked to repackage and handle a large, broken bed using the original packaging, which was not a reasonable or accessible request. When I asked for communication by email as a reasonable adjustment, this was ignored. I was instead pushed into phone contact, and when I explained I record calls to help manage my disability, the representative refused to continue the conversation. At no point was a fair or practical resolution offered. The overall handling of this issue shows a complete lack of customer care and disregard for accessibility. This has been stressful, upsetting, and entirely avoidable. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company.

Appalling Service and are not interested in retaining customers and obviously do not want a business. Placed an order with a specified delivery date to be advised by message that they cannot deliver until a week later than this. No apology and not interested in resolving. Do not use this company
