There are plenty of factors to consider when choosing the right bed for you and your needs. From matching the design and fabric finish to your bedrooms’ interior design to considering the size of the bed and if you require any additional storage space within your home. 

Size

The first step is to determine the size you need. Will you be sleeping alone or with a partner? Do you or both of you like your own ‘sleeping space’, prefer to cuddle up or a bit of both? How big is your bedroom? Can it accommodate a larger sized bed? Once you’ve considered all these and taken the required measurements to understand what space you’re working with, you have all the information you need to make a decision when it comes to your bed size.

Storage Requirements

Next up, does your bedroom feel cluttered? Are you running out of space for all your belongings? Does more storage space sound like a good idea? If you’ve answered yes to any of these questions, then a storage bed is certainly worth a consideration. 

We have divan beds that feature integrated drawers within the bed base. Perfect for storing away small items that can be grabbed at a moment's notice. Or alternatively, there’s our ottoman beds that feature spacious storage space within the entire footprint of your bed which is accessible via a lifting mattress platform. Small Single Beds

Measuring 75cm wide by 190cm long (2ft 6in x 6ft 3in), our small single beds are the perfect choice for small bedrooms and children who are graduating from their toddler beds.

Single Beds

Our single beds measure in at approximately 90cm wide by 190cm long (3ft x 6ft 3in) and are a great choice for solo sleepers and for children’s bedrooms. 

Small Double Beds 

Small double beds measure 120cm wide by 190cm long (4ft x 6ft 3in). Sitting in-between a single and double bed, small double beds are perfect for smaller bedrooms or those with tight spaces. Plus they offer more room for solo sleepers and can accommodate couples who like to snuggle up too. 

Double Beds

Double beds are 135cm wide by 190cm long (4ft 6in x 6ft 3in). As the UK’s most popular size, it’s a great choice for solo sleepers who want more space to spread out and couples who love to snuggle up but then turn over and sleep in their own space.

King Size Beds

Measuring in at 150cm wide by 200cm long (5ft x 6ft 6in), king size beds offer more room than double beds, making them a great choice for couples who like the extra space to stretch out and get comfy. The additional footprint also provides you with a lot more storage space for your belongings too if you opt for a storage bed. 

Super King Size Beds

Super king size beds measure 180cm wide by 200cm long (6ft x 6ft 6in) and are the ultimate choice if you’re looking for a luxurious bed that really makes a statement in your bedroom. The increased size provides you with plenty of space for spreading out or snuggling, the choice is yours. 

When it comes to customising your dream bed, whether it be a Divan or Ottoman, we have a wide curation of fabrics to choose from. Whatever your style, if it’s minimalistic, contemporary, rustic or traditional, our fabrics will suit your bedroom decor and personal tastes.

One of our most common choices is Plush Velvet - it’s known for its soft, warm and comforting feel that enhances so many bedroom spaces. Its dense structure traps heat, making it especially great if you consider yourself as a hot sleeper.

We also have Coniston fabric that is a durable and versatile material that suits headboards and beds. It’s a great option to choose from when it comes to upholstering your bed, as it’s made from high-quality woven wool.

The next fabric that we have is our Dumfries fabric that’s similar to tweed. It’s a beautiful and hard-wearing fabric choice to pick from when you customise your bed, as it resists a lot of wear and tear throughout the years.

You can really get creative when it comes to the fabric colour choices that you can pick from when customising your Divan or ottoman bed. Including soft pastel tones, to earthy greys and browns and bold shades, you can personalise your bed to your heart’s content.

My experience with Sloomy has been extremely disappointing from start to finish. The bed ordered via Debenhams for my vulnerable mother-in-law, who suffers from COPD and has limited mobility following a stroke, failed to arrive on the scheduled delivery date with no communication, update, or explanation. We had spent the day preparing for the delivery, including removing her existing bed, only to be left without any bed at all when the delivery failed to turn up. As a result, she was forced to spend the night sleeping on a sofa, causing significant discomfort and distress given her medical conditions. Despite the seriousness of the situation, there was little acknowledgment of the impact this had. When the bed finally arrived the following day, we discovered that the headboard could not be assembled because the required fittings were either missing or defective. What should have been a straightforward resolution turned into a frustrating and prolonged process. Attempts to obtain support have been met with slow responses, with Debenhams and sloomy passignbuck between each other, repeated requests for the same information, and a complete lack of ownership of the issue. We have been repeatedly asked to wait for escalations that never seem to happen, provide photographs multiple times, and start the process over with different agents who appear unaware of previous correspondence. Most concerning has been the apparent lack of urgency despite it being made clear that the customer affected is vulnerable. The combination of a missed delivery, poor communication, an incomplete product, lengthy delays in customer service responses, and failure to resolve the problem promptly has left us with very little confidence in Sloomy's customer care. Overall, this experience has been stressful, frustrating, and wholly unacceptable. I would not expect a vulnerable customer to be treated in this manner, and I hope significant improvements are made to both delivery reliability and after-sales support.

I ordered my sons bed to arrive two days before his birthday, I was pleasantly surprised when I received a text message to say it would actually arrive 6 days before his birthday, delivery was scheduled between 6am and 11am. On the delivery day I was at work and by 2.30pm I received a message saying the delivery van had broken down and they would contact me with an alternative date. Now I can understand that these things happen, what I do not understand and was infuriating was that I must have rang the landline number 20 times and the mobile number used to text me the same amount of times and that no one pciked up or answered the phone. The landline number just rang 5 times and then went dead. The service was shocking and being in limbo worrying if my son would get his bed before his birthday was frustrating. I did eventually get my bed at 6.35am on a bank holiday Monday morning!! I will admit the actual bed is very good quality and I cannot understimate this My advice for this company is that be aware if something goes wrong then you will be annoyed an frustrated

I would strongly advise others to think carefully before ordering from Sloomy. The bed I received was faulty and not fit for use. From the outset, resolving the issue was made unnecessarily difficult. Despite explaining that I am disabled, I was repeatedly asked to repackage and handle a large, broken bed using the original packaging, which was not a reasonable or accessible request. When I asked for communication by email as a reasonable adjustment, this was ignored. I was instead pushed into phone contact, and when I explained I record calls to help manage my disability, the representative refused to continue the conversation. At no point was a fair or practical resolution offered. The overall handling of this issue shows a complete lack of customer care and disregard for accessibility. This has been stressful, upsetting, and entirely avoidable. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company.
